Throwing Muses latest release after ten long years away from us. This band has always been the real deal in an industry with many many pretenders. Whether working on individual projects or back amongst us as a collective they never disappoint. This release has all the quality you would expect with the extensive track listings giving us even more pleasure. The truly unique singer/songwriting talents of Kristin Hersh always brighten up the day, even if the tone sometimes isn’t the happiest. This band has always been too good to be pigeon holed into categories. Listen & Enjoy – Some exceptional - All good. No detectable FCC’s
1. Smoky Hands 1 (1.09) Nice intro- slow tempo.
2. Morning Birds 1 (3.27) Drone like mild assault then becoming mellow.
3. Sleepwalking 2 (1.05) Floating away in happiness.
4. Sunray Venus (3.35) All the textures here-Chart time, surely.
5. Cherry Candy 1 (1.05) Almost ‘Cramps’ like, without the grind.
6. Film (1.48) Standard fare, mid tempo.
7. Opiates (3.54) Slowing it down, nice instrumental feel for last minute.
8. Cherry Candy 2 (0.55) Too short.
9. Freesia (2.42) Angst ridden mellow joy.
10. Curtains (1.07) Guitars toying with us here. Atmospheric.
11. Triangle Quanitico (1.15) Happier…Folkier.
12. Morning Birds 2 (2.00) Milder ballad.
13. Lazy Eye (3.20) Smoldering & gutsy.
14. Blurry 1 (2.25) Intricate & calming. Rousing short finale.
15. Folding Fire 2 (0.35) Soothing instrumental.
16. Slippershell (4.47) Everything you expect. Top drawer.
17. Bluff (1.02) Float away with this one.
18. Blurry 2 (1.32) Short & sweet.
19. Terra Nova (2.37) Lullaby-ish.
20. Walking Talking (1.02) Moody. Finishes just as it gets going.
21. Mian (4.26) Driving force. Can’t go wrong even when the pace drops.
22. Curtains 2 (0.44) Echo-y, transey.
23. Holding Fire 1 (2.21) The guitars…
24. Static (2.40) Uplifting.

30. Quick (2.34) Folkish thumper.
31. Dripping Trees 2 (1.25) Dreamy.
