Sisters from Canada, creating a really nice sound with a variety of instruments, from upbeat to ballads. A mixture of mellow ambient moods flows on this release.
Reminds me of Kate Bush & Tori Amos at times.
*Side 1 has two tracks – First one is Braid. Wind Is Coming which is the same as track one.
*Side 2 has three tracks – All other tracks untitled apart from Tasseotape.
The five tracks are distinctive and enough dead air is available to cut the songs without running into the next one – Just not sure what they are all individual called.
No FCC’s
1) Braid. Wind Is Coming (4.45) Like a cheery “Portishead”, all round strong track. Male vocals in background & steel drums (?) All add to create depth to this mild paced dancey number. Spoken word at the finish is a nice touch
2) Tasseotape Side1 (9.29) Part 1 Is a version of: Braid. Wind is Coming –sounds the same. Still a really smooth track – 4.45, Second track is certainly atmospheric, military sounding percussion – not as strong as the others.
3) Tasseotape Side2 (10.33) Slow track, highlighting the vocal talents in this group, An Irish folk feel until the pace picks up culminating in a more earthy sound, -2.56. Then new track. Both singers on this one, folk/tribal roots – to finish 5.07 – More percussion & piano on the final track on side 2 -
