Smooth banjo playing mountain music, not from points south of West Virginia, rather Frank Fairfield hails from Central California. Great sound, although the vocals don’t quite match up to the old masters.
Comparable to Lonesome Shack, who’s also been around a while but is also among the younger pioneers leading the renaissance of the more earthy Mountain/ Bluegrass sound.
No FCC’s
1) Duncan & Brady (4.20) Slowish pace - Old feel strumming with new feeling vocals. Tales of murder & meeting up with the devil.
2) Devil’s Dream Medley (2.57) Fiddles playing, with strained vocals. Mid paced jig. All round good.
