Weds Night Live performance by SF band 1989 transferred from reel to reel. Alternative Tentacles band smacks of Butthole Surfers with irreverent use of trombone, demented female vocs and lyrics, noise guitar, tribal drums. Fans of other “twisted” (now theres a word that was once waaay overused!) bands e.g. Killdozer, Bunnybrains, will like. They came through Tucson at that time and played a warehouse art space (Solar Culture nee Dodjak) pretty much naked, the overweight woman sporting a long Peacock feather out of her rectum. You get the idea…
(Track times on insert
1) intro
2) tribal, very Buttholes
3) mid paced, take on old Safeway marketing slogan “you work an honest day…”
4) raucous feel, saxophone at end
5) galloping, WNL ID at end
6) noisey echoe trombone intro to big epic tribal
7) PSAs, interlude
8) urgent
9) male vocals take lead a la Killdozer
10) WNL ID/intro at beginning
11) slow dirgey
12) interlude
13) silly intro w/ ref to Debbie Gibson (who was huge at the time), rawkin song, male vocs
