electronic/bass music/dance/experimental

The intricate funky percussion of Hessle and Hemlock, the murky night time vibes of Tectonic Plates (and all the bass weight of either of those labels). Dark night time stuff, but not in a depressing way, and some of the synths have a glow that offsets the darkness. All great tracks.

RIYL: Ramadanman, Pangaea, 2562, Hessle Audio, Hemlock, Tectonic Plates

1: rippling watery percussion, slowly pulsing synth pads, sparking electronics, knives sharpening. shuffling beat. turntable scratches. female computer voice (or maybe vocoded female voice) saying "light up" (i think). synth strings around 2:30. 5:22
2: slowly creeping beat, becomes shuffling, uses that shell casing falling on the ground thing that Burial's so fond of. starts to take off just after 1:00 without you really realizing it at first. Narcotized ravey/trancey (or is that chiptuney?) synth lines buried in the background. Occasional faint echoed chirp. Over before you know it. Like a club off in the distance. 4:14
3: trappy cymbals, trappy kicks with that deep tuned 808 sound, simple echoed synth, almost like oOoOO but not as creepy or ragged. wash of vocal sample in the background. 3:47
4: starts with filtered synth and dubby echoed snares. ghostly reverbed vocal pads remind you of both oOoOO and fatima al qadiri. trappy percussion strengthens the oOoOO comparison and sparkling desert strike synths strengthen the fatima al qadiri comparison. way slow pitch sweeping filtered rave synth. 4:26
5: 80s night drive synths, beatless and ambient, but still kind of propulsive 3:41

recommended: 4, 2
