Rebel Tumbao World
Self-Titled 2013
A musical movement which touches on the spiritual aspects of reggae and afro-cuban music. This is their first release (self-titled) with a collaboration of artists. Mostly Bob Marley covers, a bit jazzy. Most songs have very similar compositions. FCC clean.
“Rebel\ 'rebel 1a: to oppose those in authority who do not act in the best interest of humankind---Tumbao\ toóm-'Bah-o (Spanish) 1a: a syncopated bass and conga rhythm that makes you want to groove your ass off”
1: The Story 6:43 groovy syncopatic beat with a humorous and realisitic lyrics interpreting modern-life disconnection from true happiness
*2: Natural Mystic 5:10 a Bob Marley cover with afro-cuban influence
3: Love Supreme 6:09 feels a lot like freeform jazz compared to Bob (some autotune)
*4: Them Belly Full 7:11 lots of horns and really groovy!
5: Masters of Greed 5:53 good drum and bass line at 3 min.
6: Spare a Nickel: 3:49 cheeky up-tempo beat
7: Turn your lights down low 4:49 nice guitar riff with keyboard
8: Your first million 3:17 funny lyrics, conga beat
**9: Muse 5:18 really atmospheric tune, my favorite so far
*10: Sun is shining 5:41 great cover with female vocals
11: Rebel music 5:43 lots of horns in this cover Evan Petkov 10/2015
