The first album in nine years from these Santa Rosa legends straddles the band’s previous explorations of hyperkinetic pop and slowcore—quite a range. Anchored by Judah Nagler’s impressively buoyant tenor and Casey Dietz’s superhuman drumming, the band surfs gracefully from pop-punk sugar rushes to melancholy ruminations and back again.
