Abul Mogard – Circular Forms (Ecstatic Records)
Serbian organist and retired steelworker’s best work to date. Spectacular washes of cinematic ambient soundscapes, mellow yet challenging in its own way. No amount of Your Imaginary Friend’s vicodin, valium, valerian, and xanax references would do this justice.

1. (5:31) gusts of bleak grey fog swirling into the abyss; stalactites of sorrow ossify in your soul
2. (6:45) the pulsing undercurrent of the universe which subsumes all consciousness and computation; a laser beam looping through the black holes of oblivion
3. (6:49) mourning transient, tangible things may feel futile, but this crepuscular instinct serves us mortals well, lest the numbness wear off enough to wake us from this happy dream called life
4. (16:37) existence is illusory, the imagined spaces between silence and shadow.
