Rituals of Bon I
(Released by: Zoharum)

Easy…hold onto your hats here, not for the faint hearted. Slow gravelly shamanic trance. This is hypnotic dark chanting straight from the depths. From the liner ” Phurpa is an extraordinary artistic and cultural project, not only on a European scale. For years, its members have been exploring the traditions of Bön - the magical practices of ancient Tibet, Iran and even Egypt, and they take it closer to their listeners - Rituals of Bön I" is the first part of the cycle, which presents this most sacred aspect of the Russian troupe.”
Like: Coagul, Mytrip, Abed Azrie (Gilgamesh) Black Metal intro’s
Perfect late night radio – Any time of day, play it…
No FCC’s
1) Yan-Drub (23.52) Throaty, mean & mesmerizing. Carries on with whale song like sounds, rich & atmospheric. Cut at 13:13 if you have to. Dead until 13.22 – More wailing drone like waves – Wakey wakey eggs & bacey at 15.40 louder chanting – Reverts to the beginning for the final five minutes.
2) Long Life (21.29) The deep gruff magic continues – Carries on from the end of the previous track, this ends at 4:18 – A new segment with a cleaner industrial feel. Pots are banged & the foghorn blasts away. Various other times to fade before it softens completely. Jingle jangle & then the beast reappears…
