New Middle Passage is the first of a series of recordings released by Inam Records under the name, Caracoa. Minimalist techno with eccentric noises – part ambient, part industrial.
From the blog Yeah I Know It Sucks:
This is the first release from Caracoa, and while not much info is provided, it’s on Inam Records, so it most certainly involves Ryan Huber. It continues with his recent style of droning loops and clicky techno beats, sometimes approximating a punchier yet lo-fi version of the early Kompakt sound.
RIYL: Esplendor Geometrico, Xeno & Oaklander, Village Of Savoonga, Inam records releases and the compilation The Day My Favourite Insect Died.
NO WORDS, NO FCCs.
Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
1. (4:06) **Break the Arc – Minimalist techno meets industrial
2. (4:04) *A Canaanite Reborn – Techno ambient I
3. (2:33) New Middle Passage – EBM as its barest
4. (2:49) *The Devil Runs Toward – Ambient a la Brian Eno
5. (2:49) Blood of Deception – Timeless Techno – mid 1990s rave movement
6. (2:56) *Purge the Common – From the Explendor Geometrico book of tactics
7. (3:35) *Usurious – Could’ve been an outtake from the compilation The Day My Favourite Insect Died
8. (3:59) *Stolen Deity – Techno ambient II
9. (3:01) **Oars in the Water – Ambient meets Industrial
10. (5:07) **Prince of Slaves – Ambient drone techno
