Residents? Soft Machine? Monitor? Incredible nugget release dug up of obscure yet notorious Canadian composer who worked in London in the late 60's mostly. He broke free of the Pink Floyd, Soft Machine constraints of the day choosing to go the route of John Cage, Stockhausen, Steve Reich, exploring tapes and early Moogs, what was then referred to as "electronic music". He was trained, versed in jazz; sax was his primary instrument and it finds its way into most of this in strange lovely ways. Not enough space to describe how cool and avante, minimal yet lush, low fi yet complex this stuff is, what an unbelievable CD set this is and how lucky we are to have it.
