"Post Metal". There's your latest moniker, genre for you: You know how every "post rock" song kinda starts quiet then builds all techie like with fancy drumming and intense yet is "pretty" with chiming guitars taking forefront in end? Well drop in louder elements, heavier mind you, glaze it with a dose of shoegaze and you got post metal near as I can tell. Excellent musicianship, nay art school feel. Great stuff. Check it out. Fans of Do Make Say Think, Trans Am, Ourt Cloud, Bowery Electric take note. All instrumental band from Brooklyn.
1) (4:39) heavy tribal pounding out gate, evolves to simple heavy layered pounding 2) (4:27) heavy drumming with "pretty" guitarisms contrasting 3) (3:29) out the gate intense, ends cold. 4)* (7:28) long delayed bass intro is cool as Shit, then heavy drums enter if subtle, early Bowery Electric from 20 years past comes to mind with guitar drones, then get explosive of course 5) (5:44) strummy tone begins, heavy bass in this more mid paced head nodder 6) (4:46) Tom Tom pounding feel big post rock feel with soaring jams, downtunings, super heavy. 7) (4:08) piano organic sounds, kinda loopy sampled feeling are intro to big post metal slow head nod chin out rock 8) (4:35) big soaring rock out the gate 9) (3:35) trippy collage experimental feel, bass takes over but remains mostly a drone
