Incredible. This artist had the epiphany that old traditional blues songs, lyrics, with their references to god and pain and saints and blood are actually about as Black Metal as one could get. So he used traditional blues vocals and samples as his “vocalist” in his Black Metal Techno creations. Songs meld electro bass and drums, with double time machine gun beats, heavy guitars, and screamo vocals. But theres also “pretty” and chill atmospheric tones in here too, and another track that sounds right off a Nick Cave record or lifted directly from Tom Waits’ Rain Dogs. Really complex, but overall this gets an “M” cuz its super heavy, high drama, the total shit.
1)* (3:13) traditional blues singing, dramatic indie type music builds slowly and dramtically 2)** (2:39) heavy sparse dark music, big booming slow bass, goes double time with speed metal type machine gun double bass drums, guttural screams, this qualifies as metal 3) (2:00) glitch hop treatment of vocals, blippy, with deep electro Miami beats, cool Arabic tones at end 4) (3:19) total speed metal feel but with the blues vocals, screamo stuff too, this is purely metal 5) (3:08) begins with pretty keys then launches into a black speed metal feel with the “Gregorian chant” type things happening 6) (2:12) pretty and mellow toy piano instrumental piece 7)*** (3:33) another with the traditional gospel “field” blues singing, the religious references and blood and saints all make sense now in the context of black metal 8)* (2:15) sultry sexy with upright bass, chill and near whispered vocals about murder, this sounds closer to Nick Cave or Tom Waits than anything else, especially when the Marc Ribot type Rain Dogs guitar kicks in 9) (2:44) synth piano, dark but pretty, atmospheric instrumental
