Girl-guy duo from LA: self described “death pop”. Retro goth feel to this with 80’s sentiments in the percussion, “spooky” tones and feel, drama. Great guitar and use of sequencers, synths and drums. Total 4AD records orbit, elements of early Cure, Bauhaus, Dead Can Dance tone. Dreamy and good despite the darkness. New Wave feel of bands like Berlin is undeniable, Ultravox? One track even borders on progressive black metal somehow.
1)* (2:19) spooky feel, driving and upbeat 2) (2:32) galloping triplet spooky 3) (3:17) guitar and synth beats, very early Cure era darkness 4) (3:22) guitar, waltzing ¾, slick feel 5)* (3:34) more of a driving rock feel, female vocals lead this giving it a more sultry sexy quality, with twangy guitars 6) FCC “fucking” (3:26) an 80’s dance tone to this with a shuffle beat 7)* (3:46) female vocals lead, slower mindful, some super cool fuzz bass in there 8) (3:27) minor toned but still upbeat in tone somehow 9)* (2:45) very new wave dancey feel, nice 10) (3:19) dark goth feel wihich shifts into screamo almost metal vocals, dark and could be played with prog black metal even 11)* (3:15) somber near indie pop feel, a ballad compared to previous but accessible with male and female answer call vocals, lyrics
