Strange singer-songwriter type fare from Dirty Water. Its definitely got the retro 60’s psychedelic garage vibe, could be a dug out “nugget” from 1965. But it’s a new creation and not one of their usual releases that feature balls out rocking crazed insane throwback punk. This instead relies on clean/overdriven single coil guitar pickups, Rick round wound bass, and Farfisa action. Thoroughly retro. Great lyrics, quality stuff for fans of the recent Creation Factory, 13th Floor Elevators, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Eric Burdon and the Animals.
1) (2:40) simple minor, with snare based beat, morose lyrics about aloneness, “I’m wasting away and that’s how I want to stay” 2) FCC (“ piece of shit”… Colbert and Trevor say shit oh why cant we?) 3) (2:33) swingy with the Farfisa high in mix, retro 4) (1:40) upbeat driving 60’s psychedelic 5) (2:37) bouncy upbeat minor psych 6)* (2:30) some bad ass surf flavored stuff, mean 7) (2:55) buzzy surf with hand claps, sultry and darker and grooo-oovy 8)* (2:52) this has an Eric Burden dark morose song about it, hand claps 9) (2:03) driving rocking would be all out punk without the surf backbeat pulling it back 10) (2:28) fun upbeat bouncy with a slow heartfelt breakdown in middle, love song 11)* (2:57) “everybody knows”, has a real epic feel to it, slow minor but 12) (2:46) upbeat and fun feel, surfy with hand claps “three out of five looking for love” 13) (3:07) urgent passionate driving feel, all the twangs and buzzing, organ, epic
