– General Description: There’s a reason why practice rooms have thick walls. As someone who used to play trumpet, yes, some interesting sounds can be made with the instrument (or any instrument). For the most part it’s noise to the average listener. If you want to hear a fusion of instrument exploration then play Track 12 (The Duo That Became A Trio).
– Musicians:
Vinny Golia (Woodwinds and Ethnic Aerophones)
Steph Richards (Trumpet and Flugelhorn)
Bert Turetzky (Contrabass)
– FCC Compliant: YES
– Recommended Tracks: 4, 12
– Track Reviews:
1. (4:14) Solana - sounds like wacky calling to prayer in the desert with bad taxis
2. (7:42) Proprioception - the elephants are made and lots of wobbling
3. (6:37) Cerberus - and now we're in the jungle creeping along
4. ***(2:50) As I was Saying… - quiet contrabass having its say
5. (4:32) $19.95 - ling tones seeking each other out with some bass dabs poking in
6. (2:53) Sunnyside Up - solo fuzzy horn playing mostly hovering
7. (3:11) Desert Wind - whistling with the elephants and manatees
8. (3:56) Hector Shear makes his entrance…(could they really exist in Maine?) - sax exploration
9. (3:39) Atazoy - book club on the savannah
10. (3:40) The Paradox of Zazu Pitts - a certain amount of quacking and hesitation
11. (2:34) Descendant Un Escalier - spooky
12. ***(7:26) The Duo That Became A Trio - spooky weird piece
