Old school death metal a la Sepultura comes to my mind with this crust punk, doom, sludge metal from Wausau Wisconsin. Drop tuned gloom reminds me of obscure excellent Boston band The Medea Connection (check them out, cd stacks). Unforgiving stuff, perfectly recorded. No b.s. wanky stuff, just the real shit, growled and explosive. Lining their crypt with the eviscerated corpses of Norwegian metalists, the Midwest and working class America continues to show the world how heavy rock is done of late (see also Outer Heaven, Abjection Ritual, Abolishment of Flesh, Coffin Torture, The Body, Eye of the Destroyer, Kolossor, Full of Hell).
1) (4:43) acoustic guitar starts, tribalism joins quickly upbeat, 90 sec in things crash in heavy then an epic gallop ensues, instrumental 2)* (5:21) a bigger more straight forward pummeling with great drums and double picking/strumming, crust vocals appear, onslaught, cool shift about 2 min remaining 3) (4:28) heavy chord pounding out gate, then gallops in an epic almost melodic form, could be a sing along in hell 4) (3:48) super cool effects on bass in intro, like I’ve never heard before, then another huge soaring gallop 5)* (6:42) cool noise intro, strange evil darkness about this, picks up fast pace, cool bowing in there, epic 6) (7:40) starts “quiet”, goes big soon multifaceted 7) (4:18) fast paced and in your face, balls out rockin’ 8) (4:46) starts with the “pretty” guitars, eviscerating intensity ensues
