SF-based (and Wednesday Night Live alumni!) post-rock/shoegaze four-piece. Big sweeping melodies, cacophonous percussion, bold soaring vocals. Great sonic textures, drawn-out suspense, and full energy. All tracks FCC clean.
RIYL: Marriages, 65daysofstatic, Mogwai, MONO, Explosions in the Sky
TRY: 5,4, 1
*1. (2:12) Slow-building intro with smooth vocals, gradually explodes into a crescendo of crashing drums and feverish guitars before tapering off and ending how it started
2. (7:20) Another slow builder with moaned singing and a dense wall of guitars/percussion. Really interesting layered vocals in the very end
3. (5:56) Peaceful. Gentle vocals accompanied by a violin, sparse guitars and slow percussion
*4. (7:22) Seven minutes of complex jammy instrumentation. Multiple movements and apexes. Mostly layered guitars and drums, but embellished with some emotional violin. The piece really shines in the last two minutes when the guitars go into full overdrive
*5. (6:03) Soft vocals with a bit of a lilt, strummy guitars that slowly build into a wild, tangled, post-rock banger
