Spacemen 3/Spiritualized, Black Angels, Brian Jonestown, Dandy Warhols come to mind with this “minimalist, rock and roll, psych and punk” duo from NYC via Vermont. First track smacks hard of very early New Order and the Joy Division tones of Ian Curtis seem permeate. Track three could go well with Wooden Shijps, Jesus and the Mary Chain and other krauty new-psych faves. Great stuff from these guys who have long resumes, are dedicated writers and artists. Coming soon to a Coachella near you?
1)* (5:40) joyful pop very reminiscent of early New Order 2) (3:57) fade in intro, then midpaced hipswingy strummy feel 3)* (5:52) spacey atmospheric intro then the psych appears, sexy Wooden Shijps/JAMC 4)* (8:07) cool tripped out experimentally psych drenched, swirling sounds and tones, with no beat spoken delivery poetry “funeral party”, then midway a fantastic Gang of Four “We Live as We Dream Alone” beat appears, fantastic
