Gauche is a punk band from Washington D.C.. Scrappy, eclectic, and female-fronted, this album is high energy and—even in its more reflective and bitter moments—is a lot of fun to listen to. If you like this kind of thing, you really can’t go wrong with any of these tracks!
RIYL: Ex Hex, Parquet Courts, Sleater-Kinney
FCC CLEAN!
Recommended Tracks: 1, 4
1. (4:02) Flash*** – needling, bouncy, sweet and raw vocal harmonies
2. (2:27) Cycles – driving energy, midi-fied brass
3. (2:51) Pay Day – retro game start, wacky energy
4. (2:57) Surveilled Society*** – tempo switch ups, slightly slower
5. (3:45) Copper Woman – playful chimes, back-and-forth vocals
6. (2:09) Running – steady bass riff, abrupt stop
7. (3:29) Boom Hazard – big “boom” chorus, bouncy, careening
8. (3:55) Dirty Jacket – fritzy midi brass
9. (3:11) History – bobby, harsh wailing (“it was MEEEE”)
10. (3:24) Rent (v.) – party noises, group vocals
11. (3:39) Rectangle – driving energy, plucky guitar
