Expansive, rootsy ambient instrumentals ruminating on the geography of the American West. The second album from the NYC–based “ambient country” quintet. Contemplative and atmospheric. Songs are sparse, but brief, and would fit well into a folk, indie, or alt country set. All songs FCC Clean. RIYL: Barn Owl, Brian Eno, Andrew Weathers, The Dead Texan, William Tyler. TRY: 2, 6, 8, 10
(1.) (3:37) Slow, gentle blossom
(*2.) (3:10) Suspenseful, haunting. Lonely pedal guitar elements
(3.) (4:13) Aching, resonating with gentle piano and pulsing synth
(4.) (2:59) Isolated. Harmonica and sparse guitars carrying crisp through still air
(5.) (2:07) Smooth, serene, with minor percussive elements
(*6.) (4:10) Long, extended violin bowing, fuzz washes, hop-skip percussion
(7.) (3:51) Guitar and piano
(*8.) (2:18) Eerie and haunting with ringing guitar and liquid crustal smooth synth
(9.) (3:26) Extremely quiet buildup leads into gentle guitar and minimal synth
(*10.) (3:59) Steel guitar and shimmering effects with rumbling low-end percussion, and subtle violin elements
(11.) (2:23) Slow murky strumming, low end experimental murmurings, little electronic snippets, and dramatic synth pulses
(12.) (4:22) smooth slow intro, builds into an orchestral crescendo that bursts into a springy hippie beat
