Buckle up for a new cosmically exploratory album from Erika, longtime techno/electro/ambient producer from Berlin/Detroit. On this release, her first solo album in a decade, she utilizes her varied background to infuse her signature Detroit techno sound with a variety of sonic influences and thematic elements. The album itself is conceptual in nature, built around the premise of “the irregular life cycles created by three suns circling over a planetary organism that presents two major biomes: rocky crystalline desert, and deep layered forest, each of which exists above and/or below ground, depending on what phase the suns are in.” Far out!
All tracks FCC CLEAN
TRY: 2, 3, 5, 4
RIYL: rRoxymore, Ciel, Ariel Zetina
1. Crystalline flutey synths, rumbling deep bass beats
*2. Cool crisp rhythms with wandering synthesizer tendrils and bouncy bass
*3. Marchy techno with a dash two of Roland wanderings
*4. Wobbly bass techno with twinkly melodies
*5. Growling basslines with extraterrestrial blips and a bangin techno rhythm
6. Slow-evolving, worth some nice old school Detroit flavor
7. Brooding, rumbly techno
8. Fluttery bouncy
9. Groovy with instrumental flourishes
10. Slower, staticy, a bit sinister, with ambient elements
