Maserati is a band on the Kindercore label from Athens, GA, which has been getting some attention lately with other releases, the most familiar of which is probably The Agenda. This CD sounds nothing like that, though. The tracks are all indie rock instrumentals employing standard instruments: Fender guitar, drums, bass, some piano and keyboard here and there. Most are pretty subdued, and could be loosely categorized as shoegazer. There are a couple of more upbeat tunes as well.
.Starts off almost silent for the first 40 seconds. Spare bass and guitar arrangement.
.Has a near-ambient feel. Drums are dominant here with recurring guitar feedback echoes.
.Guitar-based song with a bit of a sad feeling.
.Loudest track, sounding very very much like an instrumental Fugazi track. I liked this one the best on the CD. Guitars, bass, and drums build up some nice tension.
.Really really quiet. Much like the first track.
.This is subdued to the point of being boring. Near-silent for almost a minute.
.Nice, soft piano starts it out. Has a melancholy feel similar to numero 3.
.Romantic-sounding, ethereal guitars and bass. Musically, there is not too much going on, but it has a hazy feel that is nice.
