This is pretty slick straight-ahead rawk and roll. “New Garage”: really just old Estrus type, from Swedish band that helped father this stuff (see also the Nomads). This is a collection of their various 7”s etc dating back to ’94. Hard driving guitar/bass/drums with overdriven dood vocals. Electric piano makes this a little different and along with wanking wahed guitar approach gives it a 70’s flare, a la Pat Travers, Stones, or the like, but with a nod to Kiss and Motorhead. A few good covers; all songs hard driving with almost identical meter and feel, rock and roll to the max.
1) straight gearhead rawk
2) slight 70’s swampy feel, upbeat w/ epic break, pianos appear
3) straight up
4) cover of Victims’ “Television Addict”, good
5) a litte rawer feel with the feedback, epic ending
6) super driving, intense
7) slower swingier bluesier
8) piano swampy rock feel
9) cover of stones gimme shelter , w/ piano and fem back vocs, it works
10) almost pop, somehow hookier
11) almost hardcore feel, harder than rest
12) 70’s rock feel
13) slight backbeat swampy
14) slower paced
15) more typical
16) swingy bluesy jazzy, reverby, way different from rest
17) chugga chugga cover of Social D song
18) spacemen 3/spiritualized feel to this one
