Soundtrack to the documentary about music in South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement. Covers a wide variety of artists & eras. There are some amazing performances and it’s a very powerful & inspiring collection (although the tracks are too short – I wanted more). All 29 tracks are worth a play, but check out the following especially:
2. Soulful male vox, really wonderful.
3. Big chorus, funky, uptempo.
5. Old time jazz orchestra & down-tempo chorus.
7. Mid-tempo, almost Caribean sway of percussion/chorus.
8. Relaxed a capella male chorus with clicks.
9. Down tempo jazz picks up a groove. A strong sound.
14. Sweet male vox, acoustic guitar. Simple & nice.
16. Almost Celtic-instrumental w/strings/perc. Mid-tempo.
18. Great chorus, swaying, a very cool sound.
19. Big, rousing jazz/funk anthem to Nelson Mandela.
24. Great male voice, guitar. Warm and lazy.
28. Big gospel chorus
29. Protest meeting into a cool jazz swing.
