More of the same percussive acoustic guitar, bongo, head-bopping, pseudo-socially-aware/environmentalist après-surf music (Perhaps he called this album On and On for a reason . . .) Feels less energetic than his earlier album. Not much variation within the album, but if you’re in that après-surf mood it’s OK . . .
* 1. (2:22) head-bopping stroll with just guitar
* 2. (2:33) this is the commercial radio pick of the moment, yet also one of the album’s best. Kinda funky
3. (2:50) more hushed
4. (3:59) the default groove, some chugging strumming
5. (2:10) just voice and acoustic guitar, slower and simpler; about materialism
6. (1:05) tiny guitary beachy love song
7. (3:50) slower strutting tempo; about love
* 8. (2:54) percussive prowl lamenting the simple life; intricate guitar and perc.
* 9. (2:12) hushed slighty salsa/bossa nova feel
10. (2:50) slow bouncing saunter
11. (1:35) slightly faster just acoustic/voice
12. (2:57) folky groove, shakers—TV makes kids shoot people
13. (2:38) mid/uptempo boppy minor-ish key
14. (4:10) slow nostalgic stroll
15. (3:00) slow strut, has electric instruments—sounds like it’s trying to be classic rock
16. (2:52) has background ocean/conversation sounds; lyrics are silly.
