PLAY AT 33 RPM!!!
Five goofy sons of bitches who turn out a very solid 7”. The story behind the band is that they meet once a year for one day to record songs and then quickly release those songs. This is their eighth release I believe.
SIDE A:
1 Slow intro with a slacker-y Pavement slant that gives way to a pre-“Pet Sounds” Beach Boys / Monkeys super upbeat piece of pop delight. Great song.
2 Slow, melancholy feel that reminds me in some way of Velvet Underground’s “Heroin.” This is much rougher and funnier. Just as terrific as A1.
SIDE B:
Songs 1 and 2 blend into one another and are much more abstract and experimental than the A side. Starts out slow, ethereal, hazy and finishes off in a frantic, but controlled electric guitar and keyboard.
