Here it is, the Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band reunion album, but without Captain Beefheart. Yes this record features 4 members Captain Beefhearts Magic Band from different magic band stints (John ÒDrumboÓ French, Mark ÒRockette MortonÓ Boston, Gary ÒMantisÓ Lucas, & Denny ÒFeelers ReeboÓ Wally). Classic Beefheart songs are done basically to the tee, Spastic Delta- Blues. Some of the songs are from the bluesier Magic band and others from the more OUT there sound from Trout mask and Lick my Decals. John French fillls in for the Captain doing a great impersonation of Mr Beefheart throughout the record, but the best tracks I feel are the instrumentals where they leave CBÕs vocals alone. I really enjoyed this record, but Im also a big Beefheart fan! Lots of Wierdo guitars man. PLAY!!!!! - tHE bAWD oF euphony
