Four songs, from the San Jose-based house music group Uneaq, which solidly represent the San Francisco house scene.
A1. As expected in a Deep House mix, the female vocals play a prominent role in this track. Adding a bit of flair, the songs also features a bit of that original Daft Punk sound. Seems to fit in nicely.
A2. This "Underwater Mix" from M3 seems to imply a bit of a warbly, almost cat meowish, meandering sound. Also brings in a bit of non 4x4, breaky, percussive line. (The cat sound helps bring a smile.)
B1. The "Steppin' Mix" features a ragga sound, as you'd expect, as well as a partially muted trumpet riff to round it out.
B2. The original mix, without the effort taken to rework the song into something it really isn't. I feel that this is my preferred track.
Overall it has times when it's a bit too fluffy, but that's something that I can get past. We're a little late in reviewing this one however, as I believe it was originally released in 2004. But if the traditional San Francisco House sound is your thing, give this one a listen.
