Collection of Long Beach punk bands, sassy, poppy melodic, old school LA style, funny lyrics, serious, but all good fun, all great stuff, including live tracks by old school bands Secret Hate and Falling Idols recorded 2001 as well as live tracks by some “all star” one off bands. Showcasing well the very rich Long Beach punk scene, steeped in fine tradition of blood sweat and spit. All tracks very old school with new school nod to melody and pop.
1) upbeat straight up
2) faster
3) female sassy vocs “I like drugs” great!
4) oh yeah! A cover of Deep Purple’s “highway star”, complete with doubled up wanky guitar leads, this rocks in an almost serious way
5) careful, some low volume FCCs in the intro, dirty rockin after you cue up to the start of the music
6) long intro, band addresses the audience, then ¾ spooky almost western feel, cool heavy passionate epic rock
7) FCC in intro (“shit”) forward through MC intro for some upbeat healthy old school punk
8) FCC, quick “shit” grungier alt punk, old school
9) faster hardcore delivery
10) long intro banter, upbeat hardcore
11) FCCs in 1 min intro, more old school punk
12) FCCs
13) very Germs-like basic 70’s proto hardcore
14) hard rock feel, cool treatments in end
15) basic old school melodic hardcore
16) FCCs
17) melodic
18) crunchier melodic, poppy
19) movie narrator intro sample about “nature”, Oi Oi Oi feel punk follows, even with a horn section
20) good guitar tone, borders on pop-punk w/ vocs
21) crosses the line into pop-punk, yuck
22) head banger feel intro, rather predictable nu-punk, icky
