A typically good Putumayo release, featuring the famous (Caetano Veloso) and the not-yet famous (but deserve to be). Sexy bossa novas, evocative sambas, and more…all with a clean simplicity. It’s a lush, sophisticated blend and you really can’t go wrong with any track.
*1. Slow, sexy bossa nova w/rich female vocals/horns/perc/strings.
*2. Relaxed & jazzy samba, perfect with a late night glass of wine.
3. Clarinet intro to a clean, simple samba. Female vox. Nice.
4. Warm midtempo male vocal duet w/strings. Sweet.
*5. Samba w/delicious female vocals & nice work from band.
*6. Male vox in a light, jazzy little samba.
7. Bright w/a folk influence. Nice use of chorus/strings/perc.
*8. The master w/a classic. Tripping, halting, relaxed vox/accordion
*9. Lush female vocals, strings/perc. Midtempo & warm.
10. A relaxed love song for strings/quiet male vocals.
11. Lazy romance. The piano adds a touch of jazz. A bit sad.
12. Male vocal duet w/a relaxed bounce & contemporary sound.
