Highly cerebral, sample based rockscapes. Snide and/or nostalgic samples of big band and torch songs played over thick hitting bass and drum loops that sound like slowed techno animal. Wailing, demented guitar falls over almost everything. Contains criticism of American propaganda and idealism. No FCCs.
Picks: 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,12.
*1) Cryptic foreign voice over atmospheric rock.
*2) Simple heavy groove. Thick buzz. Searing guitar.
*3) Samples of train whistle, middle eastern singing over soothing guitar loop.
**4) Wurlitzer organ and crazy A.D.D. guitar give spacey-trippy version of jazz standard Caravan.
**5) Faux slow-dance big-band with hawaiian overtones ala Martin Denny. Deranged guitar on top. Narrator gives hypnotic instructions on relaxing.
6) Soundscape. Quiet atmospheric guitar.
**7) Screwed "I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" with bass drums and effects.
*8) French woman singing corny "Bang Bang". hip hop bass underneath.
**9) Super low fuzzed bass beat over corny female vocals from forties or fifties.
10) Child saying "I'm dreaming America" over cheesy 70's Bacharach-like orchestration.
*11) Heavy beat. Mournful African-American a-cappella hymn in background. pro-American snippets from news broadcasts.
*12) Stark heavy beat. Same vein as 2. Wailing guitars.
13) Spanish female vocals. fast but gentle beat takes over.
