Melody Remix

Side A:
Melody Remix Featuring MF Doom (Clean): This my current favorite as far as beats and lyrics go. You need a joint like this every once in awhile to invigorate your crate. The break is simple but the vocal sample is soo smooth and sooo sould catching almost anything could stand up with it and it’d still be a hot song. The sample is flipped just right though and effects are added in the perfect proportions. The piano chords moving up and down the scales have the perfect reverbration to match the depth of the samples. Add in the key wacky one offs and you’ve got a beat with the right amount of character. To me MF Doom never sounds better than we he’s rappin over a jazzy beat. I think it gives a soft inflection to his style and reminds me of the KMD days. Play this a lot and let people know that tight records are out there!
Melody Remix Featuring MF Doom (Dirty): Once again same as before but with all the nice naughty words kept in. Don’t slip.
Melody Remix Featuring MF Doom (Accapella): The accapella has the hook and piano included with Doom’s verses for all you on the fly remix dj’s.

Side B:
Eddie Harris’ Bold and Black Remix featuring Carol Kaye: This is one of those joints that you look for as collector. It’s not going to mix well into your traditional set but would add great flavor to a breaks or 45’s set. I’m assuming this is famous bassist Carol Kaye… which makes it an automatic classic as well. The vibe kinda reminds me of a Headhunters / Booker T vibe. The bass lines are as funky as they get from a master. The drums as simple as good funk drums should be and the keys are layed in just right to give a warm shimmer and depth to the buzzing synth lines. The hand percussion break down gives an even more eclectic vibe but it comes back to the hook just right with the perfect cut out.
Melody Remix (Instrumental): Once again same as before but without tha words... Excellent for a mic break.
