You think it should be bad, but it’s strangely good. Anyways, indie pop/rock with lots of distortion. And very lo-fi. Sometimes too fuzzy to hear the music. Some of the lead singers can’t really sing but it still works out. This album sounds like it walked out of a John Hughes film. And it’s catchy. Recommended: 4, 5, 6, 9, 10
Track One: Guitar w/ distortion. V. lo-fi. Fem vox. Fast. Almost rock. Beatles influence.
*Track Two: Mellow. Nice guitar. Lots of distortion. Soft male vox. Very pretty backup harmonies.
Track Three: Rocks out with crazy slides on guitar. High male vox. And a tambourine! Fast.
*Track Four: Harmonica. A little more minor and blues-y but great drums. Quiet voice over guitar chords. If you’re in the mood for something relaxing… Builds into a great mellow cacophony.
*Track Five: Fast. Nice instrumentals and guitar. More traditional indie pop. Kind makes you wanna dance, bob your head, tap your feet…
*Track Six: Sounds like Pyschadelic Furs voice. Melody is a lot like earlier songs, works better in this, though. Mellow. Builds into a beautiful end.
Track Seven: Sounds a little more like what they would play at a high school dance. But good indie pop.
Track Eight: Slower. Lots of builds. Vox could use a little work. Is a little like Dylan trying to sing and then spoken word comes in at parts. However, is still quite catchy.
*Track Nine: A little more clear. Starts out with vox and then rest of band. More pop, there’s a backup chorus and all.
*Track Ten: More minor. Starts off slow. Drums come in and pick up pace. Nice lyrics and instrumentation. Long.
Track Eleven: FCC.
