jana hunter- blank unstaring heirs of doom (revolver). ms rubin 3/6 FCCok
spook folk. Wily breathy fem vox over sparse, morose arrangements. Singing is the central ingredient here- you either like it or your don’t. But if you like Cat Power, Scout Niblett, Bjork, or Joanna Newsom’s singing, you’ll likely like this. Definitely for fans of the Devendra/Vetiver scene. My picks: 1, 4, 6!!, 11!, 13
- Slow and dreamy. Vocals distort a bunch, and it sounds awesome.
- Gloomy acoustic picking with mumbly vox. Beautiful fiddle at 2:30.
- Big harmony a capella! Short.
- Bass solo! Then soulful singing on top.
- Handclaps! Unison gang vox! Short
- Twangy GORGEOUS folk- fiddle + acoustic. Vox are at their most precise, bluesy and delicate here. Perfect.
- Mid-tempo waltz. Pretty.
- Slow and downtrodden confessional vox + acoustic
- Poppiest number. Singalong campfire fare.
- Holy 4track hiss! Kinda boring and repetitive
- Haunting baroque acoustic pickin + vocal moans…then drums! Awesome.
- Sounds JUST like early cat power. Kinda country, loose vox
- Casio rock!! Fun fun fun w/ really poppy vox. Catcby!
