Retro psych/metal. Bombastic, trippy, and joyous. Male vocals. Second LP by this SF four-piece. Play with Bangtwister, Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, David Bowie, T Rex, Emerson Lake & Palmer. FCC clean (as far as I could tell). Start with 5, 9, 11, 13.
1. Instrumental overture. Fades in. Short. Fades into next track.
2. High energy, pre-grunge psych metal. Dreamy bridge. Fades in from previous track. Ends suddenly.
3. Intense quiet/loud rocker. Starts ominously and quietly. Gets loud. Complex beat. Ends suddenly, with some trailing amplifier noise.
4. Very Sabbath-meets-T Rex. Starts suddenly. Lots of time changes. Ends suddenly.
==> 5. Quiet & psychedelic. Prog-like: the song moves from one mood to another. Fades in slowly with backwards guitars, then forwards guitars. Sleepy vocals. Fades.
6. Jazzy & psychedelic. Sleepy vocals. Gets quiet and fades.
7. High energy, mid-tempo rocker. Starts suddenly. Twin guitars a bit reminiscent of Boston. Slows, then final chord crash.
8. Psychedelic rock ballad. Mid-slow. Starts with guitar arpeggio. Moves from quiet to loud. Fades.
==> 9. Intense psych metal. Yelled vocals. Starts suddenly with loud guitar. Ends with wacky space sounds.
10. Bombastic, mid-slow psych/metal anthem. Fades in. Very short. Fades.
==> 11. Psych ballad. Understated but intense. Starts with very retro solo Moog synth. Then heavy guitars.
12. Two minutes of silence.
==> 13. Unlisted track. Byrds-style psychedelic groove plus Keith Emerson synth. Nice harmonies.
