Sample art, piecemeal fun. With a gratuitous terrorism theme, saying just about all the “wrong” things possible, irreverent, practically felonious in the mind of The New Puritans in power. If there is such a thing as “shock value” anymore this might have it, if thats of value anymore anyway. Have fun! Play and get some hate-calls. That will always liven up your radio dj experience. In reality this is an abrasive commentary on the arrogance of Americans, especially abroad, and the fallout/causes of 9-11, coming from a local guy who is part of the record label Sublime Frequencies, who pretty much go to the furthest corners of the untravelled world to bring back the most incredible indigenous musics. A stunning achievement.
1) treated narrative probably from some tourism themed old record, yeah yeah, okay its belittling the indigionous people, and that’s bad!
2) gunshots ringing out in what sounds like a street scene in the middle east, followed by upbeat Islamic sounding folk-pop
3) FCCs Flight 93/terrorism themed- SEE THE FCC SAFE CUT PROVIDED BY THE ARTIST
4) FCCS- again a CLEAN VERSION PROVIDED on enclosed disc from artist, silly disco music, the “F Word”, commenting on WTC and hating on Islam
5) middle-eastern electro feel
6) Christian traveling narrative in intro to strange plodding treatments, creepy as hell with slam on The Church
7) 1 min instrumental treated thing
8) backbeated world’ly, strange, cheesy
9) heavily treated middle-eastern music
10) drum beat with faux screwed up INS interview, great
11) slow middle eastern, treated
12) insolent American tourist sample, tribal music with “Haiti, Cuba” repeated
13) sample collage
14) how to make meat taste better, dialog about eating poor people and foreigners, play with soundbed
15) 40’s boogie woogie piano, evil parting message
