This Mexican group has been together playing Spanish rock for 15 years. This 2-disc live CD is from a 2-night show in Mexico City. It’s one of the most “live” of live CDs I’ve ever heard - each track filled with cheers, yells, sing-alongs, raucous applause, and huge crowd noise. In my opinion, it detracts from the music. It must have been a fun show, but listening to it on CD for 2 discs gets annoying. It’s all rock w/some good guitars, keyboard, vocals that scream at time. All in Spanish, most tracks end early to allow ample time for either crowd adulation or words from the band.
CD#1: Favorites -
2. Bright and upbeat, leads directly into 3.
3. Fast & wacky w/lots of crowd noise.
5. Hard beatin’ mid/uptempo rock jam. Ends w/speech to crowd.
7. Fast w/a hint of surf guitar & a solid rock flavor.
9. Melodic love song w/ a sweet, relaxed feeling.
10. Stars midtempo, picks up. Good vocals.
12. 44 seconds of intro - great Mariachi/rock blend. Great fiddle/vox.
CD#2: Favorites –
1. Wicked fast oom-pah jam. Yow!
2. Fairly standard, but well played mid/uptempo rock.
4. 70’s wah-wah funk meets Spanish hip-hop & rock. Upbeat.
8. Relaxed guitar & sweet vox (would be better w/o the crowd).
9. Starts slow, gets into a midtempo ballad – faster at end.
10. Nicely sexy midtempo rock cha cha
13. Fun, upbeat, updated Tejano bounce.
