Quirky blues/funk, with New Orleans heritage in the horns but a thoroughly modern, sarcastic attitude. Fun and bouncy, with a B-3 organ sound throughout and occasional experimental touches. Think of it like a sophisticated good time, or modernized hipster party jazz. Kind of a "Pink Panther" air in spots (3,9). If the weird parts leave you cold, skip to #9, which is IMHO irresistable.
- Subdued upbeat number w/electronic twangs and occasional surges -- a skippy-happy jazz feeling overall
- A snaky '50s "exotic" feel, gradually awakens into strong mid/fast riffs after a gentle intro. Solos get nice and loud. Nice title, btw.
- Sneaky mid/fast riffs and a slow N'Orleans-style horn blowout
- Steady mid/fast stepping. Casual, with bursts of loud wildness and a quiet interlude that ends magnificently
- Way happy New Orleans rhythm, upbeat and a bit cartoony
- Slow feel, with a bit of Gospel swaying
- Sly riff, slow pretty chorus reminiscent of "Naima"
- Peppy midtempo walk, syncopated(!) 6/4 lines, a complex funk
- Straightforward happy jazz, catchy and driving. Mid/fast.
- Evil midtempo stomp interrupted by odd sax or electronics. Playful chugging end. Faint little-girl speaking intro.
