Shiny, young pop rock. Works creatively within standard rock and pop idioms to create a sound that is interesting without edginess or over-experimentation. Carefully varied arrangements, clean production, and well placed alternate playing styles and feedback keep the band's creative mixture of sounds from becoming distracting. Diverse rock.
FCC Clean. Picks: 13, 1, 2, 6, 9, 10
*1. 4:27 Bright pop/rocker with spooky, hollow undertones. Great guitar sounds.
*2. 3:57 Catchy, smooth, and flowing pop/rock melody.
3. 4:14 A slightly crunchier, more rhythmic reiteration of 1 and 2
4. 1:04 Short and punky.
5. 3:54 Low/Mid energy, with pleasantly tinkling refrains and whirling effects. Builds to anthemic repetition.
*6. 2:31 Random, spastic, and punkish verses. Very quirky. Catchy refrain.
7. 3:32 Softer. Dancy synth pop elements, with nice intro. Sweet, sad, and a bit blippy.
8. 2:04 Higher energy power chord rocker
*9. 2:46 Sweetly drooping pop ballad
*10. 4:38 Slowly building, pretty intro. Hushed vox and catchy, pulsing refrain.
11. 3:41 Rollicking post-rock.
*12. 4:39 Soft synth/piano trades off with paced, pounding guitar and drums. Nice soft/loud modular ballad.
**13. 4:19 Simple melody with diverse styles, from rootsy folk to soaring rock to synth pop to a quirkily melodic bridge/break. Very pretty and a trifle epic.
