Irreverent/pretentious art music from a classical background. FCC 5,6. Picks 8,2,11.
1-2:36 Complicated/piercing/pounding/obnoxious orchestral synth.
**2-9:05 Modern full rumbly piano. Some samples, dubbing mostly solo piano in feel. Violin towards end. Pleasant.
3-2:17 Overdubbed clarinet, fluttering, honking, meandering. Sounds like part of Wedge's show!
4-2:58 Piano duet "on detuned Steinways". Pitter pattery for the most part. Isn't "out of tune".
5-4:22 Electronics. Scratchy, bleepy. Like scrambled tape being rewinded. Treated voices float over top. -2:10 we get louder vocal samples. FCC "fuck" unclear, prolly ok.
6-6:29 Recording of 2nd generation NYC Puerto Rican? Story about a dog and talk about NYC. Orchestra plays over top, sometimes really loudly and sinister. FCC "shit". Last two minutes are orchestral and ethereal.
7-2:18 Variety of instruments, toys. Low marimba?, electronics, gong, percussion. Sounds aleatoric almost.
**8-3:15 Same format as 6, but voice is more dominant. Intentionally nonsense supercilious "meaningful" sentences. Good effect.
9-1:33 Similar timbre to 7, but with vocalizations.
10-3:52 Plucking on a strings. Very sparse. Pianos enters -2:50 with low rhythm. Gently rocking rhythm. Some electronics.
*11-11:04 Droning, looped? accordian and elec.. -7:50 sad, lyric cello enters. -6:10 cello leaves, quiet ambient electronic background to -2:40 with voices murmuring. Then strings become dominant sound building to -2:00. Accordian plays melancholy figure and is covered by electronic wash to end.
