Wow! Garage rock revival never gets old. Hailing from London, UK, the Horrors are 60s garage rock-inspired band. If I had to guess, this must be their debut EP, but yet again they have 39,000 friends on myspace! This 5 song EP recording features two covers of classic garage-punk (Crawdaddy Simon by the Syndicats) and proto-punk (Jack the Ripper by Screaming Lord Satch) rockers. Play with Hank IV, Les Georges Leningrad, the Satteliters and Fifty on their Heels (all in the A-file now) as well as the Apes and Art Brut. Great stuff!

1. Garage-y organ. Thick guitar sound with chaotic deconstructing organ and guit solos.
2. Gosh! It’s been so long since I heard this song. Classic 60s garage punker!
3. Vocals remind Art Brut, a cliché but rocking garage guitar riff; organ spazzes into some no wave chaos. Nice.
4. Cover of Screaming Lord Sutch’s classic! If you don’t know the Lord… well then you need to do some studying. It was the UK equivalent of Screaming Jay Hawkins and a very influential figure for the birth of punk.
5. Super cool prosaic vocals over some epic organ-driven garage-rock that reminds me of the Apes. Sounds like the soundtrack to a chase-scene from a spy movie. Surfy coda.
