Avant-garde banjo and cello. FCC clean. Over-generalizing, but:
Difficult: 1,2,3,7
Quieter and moody: 4,5,6
1-7:00) Fast and busy! Banjo hovers over one repeated note. Cello arcos. Second half has lots of plucking from both players. Quiet end.
*2- Very busy, buzzing. Discordant and difficult. -4:40 quiets down, but remains intense. Picks up the speed and volume again. At -1:10 gets quiet again till end.
3-5:19) Slow classical start. Banjo nervously picks away while cello makes broad, full strokes. Silence at -2:30. Quiet thru -1:50. Next banjo picks it up with fast circuitous picking, with long, lyric cello lines. Ends quiet.
*4-4:01) Avant jazzy intro, with cello making like plucked double bass. Banjo is in flutter mode till -2:30, slow down. They play together nicely to end. Ends quiet.
5-7:44) They open on harmonics. A reflective, peaceful, sparse affair through til -3:00. cello gets a little whiny and banjo gets faster builds to -1:30, then repeats intro to the end.
*6-4:41) VERY quiet throughout. Almost all skitterish, faint banjo. -1:41 the cello starts to enter. A mood piece.
*7-7:14) Starts full on, with lots of tension. Busy, scratching, and swarming. Last 30 sec. slows down for quiet end.
