Bombastic, folkish, trollish (go figure), extreme metal from Finland sung in raw-throated Swedish. These guys on their 3rd singer – someone named Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns who fits in pretty well with their sound. While this is less adventurous than previous efforts – it generally works in establishing the epic, journey vibe of their sound.
((((1))))) Really nice, cinematic, epic intro with some trolls walking on through their mossy caves.
(((2))) Pretty standard, mid-paced and focused on the mostly on the vox but gets better over time.
((((3)))) Silly & folky, multiple vocalists, accordian, bouncy them with some nice breakdowns and a few random shouted “heys”. Awesome!
((((4)))) Big galloping sounding with a really nice straight ahead thrashin’ main part and a catchy melody.
(((5))) Bouncy structure, kinda bogged down in the usual mid-paced riffs and grunted vocas. And gets TOO silly with their “doo-doot-dee-dooo” melodies
((((6)))) Blackish-metal with a pretty strong riff vocal seem to be too low in the mix, though.
((((7))))) “Country-troll” acoustic jam into charging metallic judding and random folksy ramblin’.
(((((8))))) Straight-ahead black/thrash colliding into uppity keyboard based melodies. Pretty strong stuff.
((((9)))) Acoustic & mouth harp jams then more black/thrash with that ever present “huumpa/polka” tempo.
((10)) So-so, sluggish blackish metal. Nothing special.
(((11))) Acoustic strumming, a bunch of quiet parts or blank space then a finntrollish jam with kazoo!?! Should’ve put the first & last part together as one song
