Jaunty mainstream jazz set askew. (Or: cartoony free jazz). David Slusser and Ralph Carney lead on saxophones -- two Bay Area guys both raised in Akron, Ohio (home of Devo!) The songs here aren't experimental, like a lot of Slusser & Carney's individual works. They're fairly straightforward jazz with doses of attitude and goofing around that depart from the staid club sound. Solos occasionally get wild, but only in small bursts. It's quite adventurous but won't annoy straight-jazz fans. Very much worth a spin no matter what you're into.

2- Easygoing, swingy. Midtempo, w/clever soloing.
3- Bluesy and slowish, traces of New Orleans in the gloom.
4- Loungy tipsiness, w/hip jazz guitar & organ. Mid/fast, relaxed.
5- Upbeat skipping around, plus a bit of goofing off
6- Speedy old-timey jazz, big fun. Starts w/slow rural twang.
7- An easygoing swing, with guitar. Even a bit romantic.
8- Fast. Gets a bit skronky.
9- Slowish,
10- Quick uptempo closer, dizzy.
