Improv, guitar bass drums, synth/sources, instrumentals that smack of discordant rock, some prog and experimentalism. Well recorded and nothing gratuitously “difficult”, all musical and listenable and good. Some tracks are long and can be entered and exited at will. For fans of post-rock, noise-rock, prog. Great stuff that from I gather from the liner notes (which I duplicate below) were recorded on these guys’ lunch breaks:
(liner notes) you are holding the second volume of recordings distilled from
sessions held in the break between morning and afternoon of a working
day...once a month. we met to share ideas, sounds and reflections...a
space of cool respite from the blunt heat objectitude of the corporal
fields... an homage to those sprites which demand that urge to create
be honored/humored/invoked... an attempt to avoid the soul-death
punishment which lies in wait if we do not...
1) brief, drum improv
2) upbeat rock jam, slightly noisey, discordant, great
3) spacey, slow to build, dark
4) long, sparse, chill, builds toward end
5) a nice drone with subtle guitar improv but mostly a free-drum solo/showcase
6) starts plinky and wandering, goes through a brief funky jam but after about 7 minutes launches into a really cool upbeat head nodding F/i sorta jam, long track that you could enter or exit at any time and it would work quite well
7) a pleasant upbeat, snazzy proggy in the drums jam
