Experimentalism from two greats. Licht is famous for his long associations with the likes of Rhys Chatham, Sonic Youth, Bongwater, B.A.L.L. period. This is the first I’ve heard him delve into noise and it’s a joy. Collaborating with a Japanese artist this captures the essence of years of smelly nyc subways and lovely spring days in central park. WTF? Just listen.
1) strange organ with vocalizations, like Richard simmons with a bullet through his head
2) looping sound bed with noise madness that works well
3) chill with bird calls in intro, then a weird amalgam of horns, birds, sounds
4) scraping sounds, avante and weird
5) really blippy, almost like an engine idling without a muffler, cool
