Jammy, 70’s inspired instrumentals from the members of Clutch. Not far from ZZ Top, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck Group, The James Gang & soundtracks for Nixon-era police thrillers and the like. Fun stuff.
((((1)))) Big build up, rawkin’ riffs & solid drumming. Cool organ work, too.
((((2)))) Wah-pedal, organ heavy funk.
((((3)))) Cow-bell, low-end funky-ass, bell-bottomed rawk – in the best way possible.
(((4))) Weird, sax & organ jam. Not sure where they’re going with this but the drumming’s fine.
(((5))) Noodling, psych then more VERY 70’s hard rock/funk thing with a step towards fusion.
(((6))) Loose, cop-show, organ-funk and heavy riff (say for 1973’s sake, anyway) mixed together just fine. A bit too repetitive but otherwise cool.
((7)) Clumsy, silly just TOO typical 70’s boogie jam. Less B.T.O., more Deep Purple.
((((8)))) Nice, low-down, rockin’ funk with some minimal but potent guitar 2nd part is more sparse & near dub.
(((9))) Fuzzy blues rock with a def. southern vibe
((((10)))) Jazzy, resonating, ballad-like then jammy with sax that jams on with the rest of the band (though it’s a bit ‘typical’ at the start).
