Singer Mariam Doumbia and husband Amadou Bagayoko (vox/guitars) are international superstars and this release does not disappoint. With one foot in Malian blues they add pop, hip hop, funk and other elements from around the world. Great guests add extra coolness. Every track worth a play. Mostly in French, some English as well.
1. Starts retro, picks up an electronic/hip hop beat. Mid/up & so catchy.
2. A cool mid/upbeat pop/blues sound w/a nicely wicked touch of funk.
3. Upbeat African perc, driving w/great guitar & vocals.
4. Driving Afro pop funk w/electronic flourishes. Way cool.
5. Modern blues w/a solid, head-nodding beat. Good vocals.
6. Down/mid male vox w/male vocals and dirty blues guitar.
7. Upbeat w/hip guitar work, a serious beat and good vocals.
8. Fast vocal duet, partly in English. Hint of hip hop. Sexy.
9. Upbeat, sexy funk horns and a contagious energy.
10. Mid/upbeat party w/great vocals and a hip beat.
11. Down/midtempo blues w/soaring vocals and a nice grit.
12. In English, downtempo desert blues w/lush strings.
13. Upbeat jam w/strings & an Afro blues/rock sound.
14. Fast and energetic w/cool percussion & hint of funk.
15. Instant fire w/a catchy beat and a fun wiggle.
