Traditional Norwegian Black Metal with modern (but not too slick) production. Gorgoroth, like their predecessor’s Mayhem, Gorgoroth's known for a variety of controversial events: blasphemy trials in Poland, assault charges, recent lawsuits between band members, and of course weird but highly entertaining interviews (all over the internet now).

All that aside, this is a good change of pace of them. Often (but not always) slower and bit more epic than before. It brings back to that accessible but not entirely polished or too harsh sound. The return of 2nd-era vocalist, Pest is a good change albeit one that takes awhile to get use to. Same goes for the drumming – which at times can be a bit stiff but some good riffs from Infernus. In general, a pretty good return

((((1))) Ouh-owww! Raspy vocals and basic beat & riffs with some decent changes here there.
((((2))))) Very 90’s Norwegian Black Metal sound, steady guitars, epic-like vocals & pacing. Good albeit somewhat stuck in a certain timeframe.
(((3))) Slow, doomy, depressive, good tone but it drags a bit too long.
(((((4))))) Fast, charging “typisk”/typical melodic melodic Norwegian BM.
(((((5))))) Weird but well done, super-melodic riffing & delivery ‘ala Immortal (ok, maaaybe a little more grim).
((((6))))) Excellent opening riff and very ‘bangin’ tempo. Pulls back a little but otherwise quite jammin’ tune.
((((((7))))) Muscular riffing & charging ‘ala Immortal with a nice Black and Heavy Metal blend.
(((((8)))))) Classic Norwegian BM speed & blaze with the halmark tremolo riffing and blasts. Drumming sounds pretty lively here. Good melodic chorus & breaks not too far from Bathory & Enslaved in places.
((((((9))))))) Fuckin ace doom riffs and evil chanting. (Infernus is a huge fan of bands like Pentagram & Death SS and it shows).
